Wow, really I’m impressed. Time went way too fast I tell you that, I can’t believe that it has been a full year since I started doing this. I don’t know how many blogs I wrote but I know for sure they weren’t much. I kept on trying to get myself to post more and all but I wasn’t really sure I had good topics to talk about, not that any of the topics I’ve talked about before are world changing breakthroughs or anything it’s just that… I wasn’t feeling it.
For the past a few days I’ve moved away from Void back yet again to Artix, this time I gave this stupid distro a fair shot but man it really ain’t doing it for me, I couldn’t get virt-manager to work here which is a huge deal breaker for me. I love running VMs, that’s why I bought extra RAMs dang it. But in all fairness it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting, I ran to way too many issues sure but still, I got everything up and running in a very short time and I was receiving a regular amount of updates all the time. The updates weren’t exactly stable but that’s fine because that’s what I signed up for by using Arch BTW, I think Keepassxc broke once today or yesterday I can’t remember for sure, but other than that and the fact that virt-manager didn’t work I think that pacman was really doing it for me this time. I was using Yay instead of Paru this time which I think is reason behind my bad experience with the AUR, Paru is supposed to be just as good but I never had any issues with the AUR after I moved to Yay (also does anyone know what’s up with “yet another” trend in Golang software?). There is also Dinit, I started using it instead of Runit since I thought it might be better to get used to a better init system without that whole symbolic links mess that I wasn’t exactly enjoying. Am I thinking about going back to Void? All the damn time, Will I? meh.
Oh right I just made a new DWM build and it’s working great so far! I’m using much less patches and it’s very clean now and giving me a real DWM experience. In my old build I wasn’t using the master slave layout since I modified it trying to get it to work like the i3 layout, but now I think that I’m really over the layout thing, I still need to get used to new windows poping up on the left side of my screen tho… for now it’s really annoying. Also I moved away from slstatus to dwmblocks which is amazing! I suffered writing the scripts sure but at least now it’s not running them every damn second that was crazy, but it sucks that I can’t get the clickable thing, I mean I don’t need it or anything I just would feel much better if I had the option to use.
Other than that not much has changed really, my workflow is still kinda the same, expect that I’ve been learning a lot more about web development and all, svelte and tailwind are making a great combo for a lazy person like me to get to learn more. I’m trying to keep a little bit of attention to Rust as well but man that $hit is tough. I ain’t got that much mental power man it’s painful, but that rush of dopamine you get every time you realize how dumb you are is just worth it, it’s like freaking working out or something.
Well I think that was all I had for today, HBD to my blog ig. Hope I’ll be still doing this by next year that would be awesome. Thank you so much for reading my friend, see you next time. Farewell!
Seth.
