I honestly don’t remember when was the last time I sat like this and… wrote? But I do know for sure that I kinda missed this. Many things has happened in the past few week that you’d expect me to talk about in this blog, but I didn’t. Let’s just say that I had somethings in hand that kept me busy and now I got some free time to spare!

a Quick Update on my Digital Setup Link to heading

In the past post I talked about how much I hated my smart phone and how I tried to use as much FOSS on it as possible but that wasn’t so easy without a good custom ROM to install on it, so I simply switched to a dummy phone and I’ve been using for about a week now. I’m enjoying the experience so far and it’s everything I hoped for it to be and more actually, I got some podcasts on it with some of playlists since I was kinda limited in storage. The only SD card I got for now has only 4GB which is not too bad but this phone doesn’t supports .OGG format nor .OPUS which sucks because which these too I could have save a lot of space compared to .MP3, but still I can always plug it into my computer and swap a new folder. Also I’m using this Android 4.2 Samsung tablet for… reading? and sometimes browsing YouTube and my RSS feed (I use SkyTube and YARR). In my computer not much has changed really, I haven’t been coding for quite a while now. I took some kind of a break to focus on some other thing and now I’m honestly kinda confused about… many things, SurrealDB has been under heavy development and I’m kinda reconsidering using it in my graduation project for how powerful it is.

Why Do I Miss GNOME Link to heading

I must have spending why too much time on WMs why else would I start missing the GNOME DE right? after this new LTS Ubuntu has with it’s awful moving from .DEB packages to snaps thing I took a look at the distro and the truth is… GNOME is such an attractive DE, bloated yes. But it’s so clean and straight forward for the most part, I’m actually downloading the 6GB ISO right now to check it out in a VM because why not. I’ll probably talk about it in the next post… if there is one lol, till then farewell.

Seth.
