Yes, it is true. I woke up this morning with a great hunger for pain, so I went to the suckless website, downloaded my stuff, and started configuring and patching. Dear Lord, the way it turned out and how smooth dwm is got me for real this time. If I were a bit more familiar with the master/slave layout, or whatever it’s called, I would have switched from bspwm to it permanently.
However… I kind of crossed a line by not following the suckless rules while ricing this setup… I used kitty instead of st, and that’s not even the worst part. I really like zsh, but I wasn’t patient enough to customize it from scratch, so… I installed z4h. Yes, you heard me right, but please don’t kill me. I can explain… Well, actually, I can’t. No explanation can justify such a horrible crime.
You probably noticed that I’m a tmux user if you checked the screenshots. If you haven’t, go quickly, because you won’t find anything like that, not even in the unixporn subreddit. You’re welcome. I also used NvChad for my nvim setup since I use it for most of my coding. So, yep, I customized VSCode just for the sake of that screenshot, and I’ll probably never use it ever again. Also, I switched from ranger to lf since it’s more minimal and much faster than that Python crap. I added icons to it and used some extra code to make it suitable for system navigation and such. It’s so much better, and I highly recommend it to every ranger user out there who’s tired of how laggy ranger can be.
