I’m not sure why, but recently I’ve been extremely distracted. I mean I always have been, but now It’s kinda getting worse XD. The fact that this is the second post for me this year is nuts, I’m not even sure whether I talked about the hardware update I got or not, but I’m gonna mention it today anyway, because I’m gonna be going through the things I haven’t documented and may Allah help me with this one.
The Airport Project Link to heading
While I was working on this project I realized how little I know about web development, there is so many things that I have to learn if I want to make real progress on a project like that. Also… working on my own is slowly becoming a turn off for some reason, yes I don’t like working alone because I get to control everything and all but the price of this flexibility is way to high for me now, it’s not that I get to control everything now it’s more like I have to control everything. For example if I were working in a team with someone who had a better knowledge about the front-end work I would have learned a lot and got some much more work done, instead I had to suffer dealing with it on my own.
My Distro Hopping Addiction Link to heading
I mean… just this month I’ve ran multiple VMs for all of these:
- Manjaro
- Artix
- MX
- Lite
- BlendOS
- EndeavourOS
- Mint
- Debian
- PopOS (didn’t work for some reason but I did install it on hardware)
I even fixed the problem I had with win11 and made a stable VM for school, which I’ll be replacing soon with a win10 one (I have win8.1 VM for Office… MS access doesn’t come with office 365 for some reason, fuck MS).
System Update Link to heading
Really nth much here, I’m still running void. I like how powerful and stable it is, I’ve thought a lot about trying a new Distro like Nix or Gentoo but… these two require a huge amount of time and energy I really don’t have, especially Gentoo. So yeah I’m not changing much about my current setup any time soon.
Right also I managed to get Oracle to work after I got deeper into containers not that deep tho just enough to learn how to use Podman and Distrobox that’s all. I tried to use Distrobox to get Spotify to work on my distro but for some reason it just didn’t work, and I refuse to use flatpacks or whatever those things are called I hate the idea it just doesn’t sound right. Also I learned how to build a LAMP server and it was a lot of fun, I created one using Debian 12 but I wanna try to build a better one using a BSD system. I got an old laptop with a GPU that might work well enough to run a LLM, the only problem I have is this laptop lacks a RAMs and a screen, and when I took off the screen I broke the power button so I’mma need to find a way to turn it on. It’s gonna be a pain to set it up but once I do I’ll have a really good home server and it’ll be a huge help.
This is gonna be it for me today, thank you so much for reading. Farewell! Seth.
