Okay seriously, what the hell has happened this week? I completely lost track of time. Let me see… I have made great progress learning Rust, and I’m on my way to finishing my first app that has an actual back end with a database, and the one I’m working with right now is surrealdb. I’m not really sure whether I talked about this framework here. All you need to know is that I’m enjoying it so much even though it is such a pain to learn. Don’t get me wrong; it may have been easy for other people, but in my case, I have never dealt with a serious database management system like this one on this depth before. What makes it even harder is that I’m still new to SQL syntax, and the only thing I’m good at is keeping caps on while typing.
Today, I worked on my dwm setup a little and improved the way I’m handling it in GitLab by just adding my own patch instead of uploading the whole working directory, which is much nicer. Also, I’ve improved tmux and moved to a new color scheme for my terminals and for Neovim. It’s called Melange and it is so awesome since it fits so well with the rest of my Gruvbox setup.
I think this is it for today since I still have a lot of work on my task manager. Hopefully, I’ll manage to improve it a bit, and who knows, I might even give it a proper front-end… keeping the Gruvbox theme, obviously. See you next time.
Seth.
